| Poly Compounding, LLC is a toll compounder of filled and reinforced thermoplastics, conductive masterbatches, and heat and shear sensitive polymers and additives. |
| Our process technology includes two state-of-the-art Buss Kneaders (a.k.a. Ko-Kneader) for the continuous compounding of Engineered Thermoplastics. The Kneaders are mixing and venting extruders that provide excellent shear rate control and extremely homogeneous distributive mixing. For many temperature sensitive and highly filled applications Kneaders out perform conventional co-rotating twin screw extruders and other continuous compounding systems. |
| Poly Compounding, LLC is an excellent outlet for compounders to explore the processing benefits of this unique technology. |
| Poly Compounding, LLC can be utilized as a full service provider for process development, commercialization and/or supplemental production. |
| HISTORY |
| TOLL SERVICE |
| The company provides a toll service to compounders that: |
| * have products that show significant improvements (mechanical and/or electrical properties) when produced on the Kneader. |
| * have products that are not fully commercialized. |
| * have commercialized products that are not required in amounts that make them economical to bring in-house. |
| * have swing capacity that they need produced in a timely manner. |
| PROCESS DEVELOPMENT SERVICE |
| The company can be used to: |
| * tailor a process for optimum performance |
| * define a process, i.e. screw design, ancillary equipment |
| * process consultation |
| * commericalize a product |
| PROCESSING BENEFITS | |
| * lower energy input, lower melt temperatures and better physical properties | |
| * extremely homogenous mixing, no shear spikes, equal treatment of polymer matrix. | |
| * dispersive mixing without destroying delicate fillers. | |
| * high volumetric loadings of fillers and additives. | |
| * high temperature (420ºC) capability. | |
